Artistic director

Ints Teterovskis (1972) has been the Artistic Director of the award-winning Latvian Youth Choir BALSIS since 1998 and has been a Principal Conductor of the Latvian National Song Celebrations since 2008. He is also the Principal Regional Conductor for over 20 choirs in Latvia. As a conductor, he has recorded twelve CDs to date.

In particular Ints is recognized for his interpretation of the musical repertoire of Baltic composers. His imaginative and passionate approach to teaching choral technique and interpretation has him increasingly in demand as a choral workshop clinician, guest conductor and adjudicator in Latvia and abroad. Ints has led choral workshops in America (2000, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2014), Canada (2010, 2011), Sweden (2013), Australia (2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015), China (2015) and has coached students attending the International Masterclasses for Young Musicians project in Latvia. In addition to an active conducting career, Ints, a gifted baritone, also performs as a soloist.

Kamila Siliņa (2001) has associated herself with music since early childhood and just like the majority of musicians she started her music education at a music school. After finishing elementary school, Kamila continued to learn music in depth, studying at Stanislavs Broks Daugavpils Music High School in the Choral Conducting and Vocal Music Departments (specialist teachers - Yevgenijs Ustinskovs (conducting) and Olga Salna (vocals)). Currently, Kamila is studying at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music Choir Conducting Department under the guidance of associate professor Jānis Baltiņš. Kamila Siliņa joined Youth choir BALSIS in May 2022.

Georgs Zujevs (2000) was born in Riga and started his music education at the boys' choir class of Jazeps Medins Music School. His everyday life which was filled with rehearsals, concerts, recordings and tours (Germany, Poland, France, Brasil, Singapore etc.) was the reason he fell in love with choral music at a very young age. Georgs received his highschool education at the Riga State Gymnasium No. 2, while simultaneously studying high school level music subjects at the Jazeps Medins Riga 1st Music School, where he also began to attend his first conducting lessons with the conductor Romans Vanags. In 2019 Georgs started studying choral conducting at the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music (class of assoc. prof. Romans Vanags). In addition to his work in the Youth Choir BALSIS, which he joined in September of 2022, he also works in the men's choir "Tēvzeme", the JMR1.MS boys' choir and is the artistic director of the Riga Teikas High School Chamber Orchestra.
